I don't really have anything to blog about, but I figured I should at least put something since it's been so long since my last posty thing. The new Poke'mon games came out on the sixth. Not that many people reading this care. But they're fun. I got the White version with the black legendary... It's tail reminds me of a bee for some reason...
Hnnn... (Yes, I really did just make that sound) Would anyone be interested in an end of the world story? Except that what I'm thinking about doing is after the end of the world and the world didn't actually end, just civilization as we know it... Basically WWIII has come and gone and the world is a giant ruin. About 100 or so years have passed since the war and the descendants of the survivors are fighting to survive on the barely livable planet. Oh, but during the war there were a bunch of genetic experiments that created living weapons and such. These experiments escaped during the war and after wards they bred with normal humans, but the genetic mutations/alterations are dominant and are almost always passed to the children. Anyways, the people who have survived so far and haven't been reduced to nothing but savage beasts by the mutations and other assorted things all live in small communities and fight off the beasts, abominations, ect. The main character is going to be an original genetic experiment who had actually been... What's it called... Where you're kind of frozen or something and can't age or whatever? Blah... Anyway, the thing keeping her like that malfunctions and releases her into a world where she has no idea what's happened and travels around to try to figure it out, but the survivors don't know much about the past except as stories. So, she wanders for a bit (I'm going to start the story about a year after she's woken up and I'm not going to mention her being an original experiment or any of that stuff) and she meets this group of people who 'adopt' her. One of them gives her the nickname 'Sprocket' because of her skill with mechanics.

What do you mean no one really knows what happened in the past?
I mean, the main character slept through it and the others have only heard stories. Crazy stuff could have happened during that time and none of them know it. XD
Oh, yeah. Sorry, it just looked like you were talking about the Poke'mon game when you said it. But yeah, no one really knows.

The type of story you're talking about is in the genre called "Post Apocalyptic." The name is funny because most of them don't really have to do with any sort of apocalypse, but mostly just the end of civilization and people needing to survive after some kind of horrible, tragic event.
I like the idea of the story, and the way you have the main character set apart from everyone else. She's different without being over powered in comparison to anyone else with special abilities.
Do you think, with the main character being good at mechanics, that you would go in the direction with cyber punk?
I might if I knew exactly what cyber punk is... I've heard of it, but I've never really looked into it or heard/been told what it was.
